A note about the Lotus School of Flower Arranging...
The school is currently incorporated as a not for profit and is in the process of being created. It, like the website are both akin to a lotus yet in the mud: full of potential, a bit mired, but on the cusp of blooming. Updates will be posted on the website lotusflowerschool.com soon.

The Lotus School of Flower Arranging

The soul has a thirst that water does not quench. It seeks to drink deeply from the wells of intimacy, spirituality, and beauty. Flowers and flower arranging elegantly satisfy this thirst.

The Lotus School of Flower Arranging has many programs that are available to individuals and groups seeking to spend time with flowers and to nurture their souls through creativity and the art of flower arranging.

The core course of The Lotus School of Flower Arranging is the Expression of Soul through Flowers. This course is a basic course in the making of a flower arrangement combined with some simple reflections on the power of creativity and creativity’s relationship to the soul. It is rooted in breath, silence, and meditation. This class is presented as a workshop for the population at large and is especially good for individuals seeking experiential insight into the depths of their souls and their own relationship to creative power. It is also beneficial for groups seeking shared creative experiences and/or team building. This workshop appeals to a broad range of people, including individuals and church and civic groups, as well as corporate clients. The basic workshop can be extended and enhanced to create a day of renewal or a weekend retreat. We also offer classes, workshops, and retreats based on this work that are tailored to meet the needs of professional floral designers.

The primary purpose of the Lotus School of Flower Arranging is to nurture people on their own unique journeys to the depths of their souls and to encourage the exploration of their creative power through flowers and the art of flower arranging. Therefore, we are not affiliated with any religious or political organization, nor do we have a creed. This work is based on experience rather than beliefs. Ultimately, the school's purpose is to share the exquisite beauty of flowers with a wide range of people as we seek to answer the question “How much good can we do with flowers?”

The mission of the Lotus School of Flower Arranging is to nurture people in their quest for deeper, more artful and soulful lives through the  principles of creativity as demonstrated in the creation of a flower arrangement.
