Kevin Joel Kelly

Kevin Joel Kelly is a master floral designer and has designed professionally for 40 years in the greater Kansas CIty area. Throughout those years, Kevin has taught floral design to individuals and groups including floriculture to those seeking careers as professional designers and flower arranging classes to others seeking to learn the art for pleasure. Kevin has worked in both wholesale and retail floristry and he has owned a flower shop. .

            Throughout his career Kevin has observed and studied the processes of soul and spirituality in relationship to creativity in general and flower arranging in particular. In his first book, Letting the Lotus Bloom, the Expression of Soul through Flowers with foreword by Thomas Moore, author of the best selling, Care of the Soul, Kevin shares some of his insights. Kevin continues his exploration of creativity in his next book, Conscious Creativity and the Power of Yes.

            Kevin is the founder and executive director of the Lotus School of Flower Arranging. He is also an associate instructor at Koehler and Dramm's Institute of Floristry in Minneapolis MN and he has a design studio in Kansas City MO. He particularly enjoys watching people under his tutelage discover for the first time that, contrary to their long-held belief about themselves, they can indeed create lovely flower arrangements and in the process express the depths of their own souls.
